Dr. Terry Schmitt, DDS
Dr. Schmitt has practiced dentistry since July 2017. He worked as an associate dentist for six years in Bemidji, MN in both private practice and public health settings before deciding to settle in Grand Rapids with a practice to call his own. He acquired Dr. Lee Jess’s practice in September 2023 and founded Pokegama Dental.
More About Dr. Schmitt
Dr. Schmitt was raised in Cambridge, MN and attended college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison-Wisconsin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Schmitt is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), and Northwestern District Dental Society. He served as President of the Northwestern District Dental Society for the 2021 term.
When not in the office, Dr. Schmitt can almost always be found spending time with his wife, Jill, and his son, Louis (6-months). They love being out on the lake together as a family in the summertime, and playing with their pets, Wilson (dog) and Oliver (cat). Dr. Schmitt also enjoys football, cooking, and playing guitar.
